Video on Demand
The availability of Video on Demand platforms in Ireland has widened in 2012, with the launch of Netflix, Volta, and UPC, and are becoming increasingly important to a film's commercial lifecycle. These new platforms join iTunes, Xbox Live, and Mubi as the primary video on demand services in Ireland. These are accessible online in Ireland and through devices such as PCs and laptops, gaming consoles, tablets, media players, and smart TVs.
The IFB works closely with the Irish Video on Demand platform http://www.volta.ie/ to ensure that IFB films have the opportunity to be seen by as wide an audience as possible through this medium, and is committed to engaging with all new providers in this area.
To maximise a film's exposure on worldwide Video on Demand networks, it is advisable to engage the services of a rights aggregation company. For a listing of Apple approved iTunes Movie Aggregators, please click here.
If you would like to discuss video on demand exploitation of your film, both domestically and Internationally, please feel free to contact Emma Scott at the Irish Film Board on firstname.lastname@example.org
