Filming in Ireland /

Irish Film Commission

Great film and television drama continues to be made in Ireland year after year. Our success is built on talented Irish producers, directors, writers, cast and crew, backed by strong and consistent Irish government support.

As Ireland's National Screen Agency, Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board (IFB) has a dual role. In addition to funding local and international production, we promote Ireland as a film location internationally. The Irish Film Commission, a unit within the IFB, carries out this promotional work.

The Irish Film Commission, based in Dublin, also ensures that Ireland remains a film-friendly location for both local and visiting filmmakers.

"My team regularly used the online locations gallery during prep on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  It is a fantastic resource.  The Irish Film Commission were always on hand to answer any questions we had about filming in Ireland."

Sue Quinn, Location Manager, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
