IFB Funding Programmes / Overview /Applications & Decisions |
If you are considering making an application, you should study the dedicated section relevant to the funding you are seeking, especially the How to Apply guidelines. Read these guidelines carefully and download the application form (you cannot now apply for BSÉ/IFB funding online but BSÉ/IFB hopes to change this shortly). Complete the application form in full and supply all additional materials requested. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
With regard to deadlines for funding applications, the prevailing practice is that applications received within a given calendar month (i.e. delivered to BSÉ/IFB's head office in Galway by the last business day of the month) will be included in the next available decision-making round. Responses will be given as follows:
Development funding - within 6-8 weeks from the end of the month in which an application is received (i.e. a two-month turnaround)
Production and Distribution funding - within 3-4 weeks from the end of the month in which an application is received (i.e. a one-month turnaround)
Submissions are considered by a Project Group of BSÉ/IFB Executives and on an ad hoc basis by Consultants. Separate meetings are held to consider development funding applications and production and distribution funding applications; at least one of each type of meeting is normally held every month. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by letter, following decisions by the Board of BSÉ/IFB, which generally takes one week from the date of the meeting of the project group. Please note that applications submitted to BSÉ/IFB cannot be returned.
If you are dissatisfied with the way in which your application was processed, you should write to the Chief Executive of BSÉ/IFB. The letter should set out clearly the grounds for complaint, giving as much detail as possible. Please note that complaints may be made only on grounds of procedure, not of creative judgment. Procedural complaints will be taken very seriously and investigated fully by the Chief Executive.
If you are not an applicant, or are not yet sure if you intend to be, you can gain an overall insight into the way BSÉ/IFB implements its funding programmes by consulting the section of the BSÉ/IFB website where the Principles & Criteria that inform BSÉ/IFB's funding decisions are described in detail.
