IFB Funding Programmes / Production /
Fiction Irish Production Loans
About the Funding
This funding is for feature films originated and creatively led by Irish talent - directors, writers, producers - the content of which will generally (but not invariably) express Irish culture in some way, and the practical management of which is primarily in Irish hands. This programme is open to live-action fiction films or animated feature films.
Funding under the Irish Production programme is generally (but not invariably) provided by BSÉ/IFB for the making of projects predominantly in English or Irish, or a combination of the two. In very limited and exceptional circumstances, live-action television drama series may be considered.
With effect from 29th September 2017, enhanced production funding will be available to projects that qualify for this scheme and involve a female writer(s), female director(s) and/or female writer/director(s). For further infomation, please consult the specific Guidelines downloadable from this page.
