CITADEL Wins Audience Award at Celluloid Screams

1st Nov 2012
Following on from its double Scottish BAFTA Award nominations last week the Irish/Scottish co-production CITADEL has picked up the Audience Award at Celluloid Screams this week.

The psychological horror debut from talented Irish writer - director Ciarán Foy CITADEL was the secret film at the horror festival in Sheffield and went down well with audiences.

Blurring the boundary between real-life experiences and a darker fictional world, CITADEL which stars Aneurin Barnard along with James Cosmo is an unsettling, original and powerful story - an agoraphobic father teams up with a renegade priest to save his daughter from the clutches of a gang of twisted feral children. This nomination follows CITADEL's success at the Galway Film Fleadh where it picked up the Best First Feature prize and SXSW where it picked up an Audience Award earlier this year.

CITADEL was produced by Katie Holly for Blinder Films and Brian Coffey for Sigma Films with funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and Creative Scotland.
