IFB Funded Short FOXES Added to Tribeca Line-Up
Following on from its world premiere at this week's SXSW festival in Austin, Texas Lorcan Finnegan's short film FOXES has been selected for the Tribeca Film Festival. The short will now join the features BABYGIRL, DEATH OF A SUPERHERO and the documentary EL GUSTO in the Irish line-up at the festival.
Lorcan Finnegan's FOXES tells the tale of a young couple trapped in a remote estate of empty houses and shrieking foxes are beckoned from their isolation into a twilight world, a world of the paranormal or perhaps insanity. It was written by Garret Shanley and produced by Brunella Cocchiglia for Lovely Productions as part of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board's Signatures scheme. Lorcan previously directed the Virtual Cinema short Invention of the Lightbulb and the Short Short Changes.
FOXES will be one of 60 short films to screen at Robert De Niro's festival next month and will screen in the Fallout - Narrative section.
Other Irish interests in the shorts section include the short film SCREENSHOT written and directed by Cathal Burke. It follows Kate who meets an old friend through Facebook and discovers just how unfriendly a place the internet can be.
ALL THAT WAY FOR LOVE written by Irish writer Thomas Martin will also screen at the festival. Martin has recently written a short Can't See You Anymore which was one of the successful Signature projects announced earlier this month. It will be directed by Michael Kinirons and produced by Ailish Bracken for Blinder Films.
The Tribeca Film Festival will take place in New York City from April 18 - 29.
