I Am Not A Serial Killer released in Irish cinemas this Friday
Billy O’Brien’s award-winning feature film, I Am Not A Serial Killer, will be released in Irish cinemas this Friday, 09 December.
I Am Not A Serial Killer premiered at the prestigious SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas in March and was awarded the Silver Méliès Award at the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival in September. Most recently, the film was nominated for three British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) including Best Screenplay for Billy O'Brien and Chris Hyde, Best Actor for Max Records and Best Supporting Actor for Christopher Lloyd.
Adapted by O'Brien and Hyde from Dan Wells' novel of the same name, I Am Not A Serial Killer is set in Clayton, a small mid-west town and tells the story of John Wayne Cleaver, a 16-year-old boy with an obsession for serial killers. Driven by a frenetic desire to resist his own inner demons, John —played by Max Records — enters dangerous territory when he risks breaking his own rules as he sets out to trap a serial killer in an attempt not to become one himself.
Starring alongside Records in this nerve-shredding supernatural thriller is prolific actor Christopher Lloyd, who plays Crowley; John’s elderly neighbour.
I Am Not A Serial Killer is produced by Floodland Pictures in Ireland and Tea Shop & Film Company in the UK with funding from the Irish Film Board.
