Irish Comedy-Horror’s STITCHES and GRABBERS To Get Audiences Screaming At Frightfest

1st Aug 2012
The killer-clown comedy STITCHES and creature feature GRABBERS have been selected for the 13th annual Film 4 FrightFest later this month.

The festival, globally acclaimed as the most unique place for the lifeblood and genre culture of the UK will screen the official World Premiere of Conor McMahon's STITCHES.  Co-written by McMahon and David O'Brien, the films stars comedian Ross Noble as Stitches the clown who having had a fatal accident at the hands of a group of nasty children comes back from the dead to wreak revenge on the group when they celebrate one of their 16th birthdays.  Noble will attend the festival with Conor McMahon who will both take part in a Q&A ahead of the film.

GRABBERS, directed by Jon Wright will also screen at the festival.  Written by Kevin Lehane, the story captures the idyll and charm of a rural Irish fishing village, as the peace of the enchanting Erin Island community is shattered by an invasion of giant squid-like creatures from the sea, known as "grabbers", who start picking off the villagers. Handsome but washed up local policeman O'Shea is forced to sober up and team up with uptight, teetotal policewoman Lisa to protect the island's population from the tentacle, fang-jawed, barb-tongued creatures.   Both Wright and Lehane will attend the screening.

The 13th Film 4 FrightFest will take place August 23rd - 27th.
