Irish Comedy Horror STITCHES to have Irish Premiere at Movie Fest This Weekend with its star Ross Noble in Attendance

6th Sep 2012
Comedian Ross Noble will attend the Irish premiere of his new film, the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board funded STITCHES, at Movie Fest this Saturday September 8th.  The screening which will be also attended by other members of the cast and crew will be followed by a Q&A.

Conor McMahon's comedy-horror film stars Noble in his debut movie role as Stitches the clown who, having had a fatal accident at the hands of a group of children, comes back from the dead to wreak revenge on them when they celebrate one of their 16th birthdays.  The film won a Film4 FrightFest award from Total Film last month and is due to be released in Irish cinemas on October 26th.  Noble will also be a guest on the Late Late Show on Friday 7th September.

The second annual Movie Fest, inspired by the massively successful "Comic Con" event held in the US, takes place at Cineworld Cinemas, Dublin this weekend on September 8th and 9th. Movie Fest will screen six movie premieres over the weekend, none of which have been seen in Irish cinemas. Confirmed films are Looper starring Bruce Willis, the new thriller Premium Rush starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and the new animated film Paranorman, from the makers of Coraline, which is currently the best reviewed movie at the box office in the US. The director of Paranorman, Chris Butler, will be flying in to make an appearance and talk to the Movie Fest audience.

Audiences will also have a chance to have a first look at footage from Neil Jordan's BYZANTIUM and Lenny Abrahamson's WHAT RICHARD DID which will both have their premieres at the Toronto International Film Festival this week and GOOD VIBRATIONS which won the Best Irish Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh in July.

The weekend will include exclusive trailers and footage from Comic-Con and can expect to see clips from movies like Iron Man 3Die Hard 5, Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths which stars Colin Farrell and many more. Day tickets will be available for purchase for the event, and each day will include high-profile feature film previews along with presentations from all major Hollywood studios including Warner Bros. Pictures, Disney, Universal, 20th Century Fox and Paramount.

Movie Fest takes place at Cineworld Cinemas, Parnell Centre, Dublin on September 8th / 9th. Full details can be found on www.movies.ie/fest. Tickets are available from Cineworld
