Latest Successful 'Reality Bites' Film Awards Announced
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (BSÉ/IFB) is delighted to announce that the latest successful Reality Bites projects and their production teams have been selected. This short documentary scheme aims to encourage experimentation and the realisation of fresh approaches to non-fiction filmmaking.
Recent projects produced under the Reality Bites scheme earned both local and international recognition in the last year including The Last Days of Peter Bergmann directed by Ciaran Cassidy and produced by Morgan Bushe screened at this year's prestigious Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to win major awards at a number of international Film Festivals and just last month Paul Quinn and Tom Burke's Bloody Good Headline scooped the Jury Award for Best Short Film following its premiere at the IFI Stranger than Fiction festival.
It is with great anticipation that the IFB can reveal the following three teams have been awarded funding for their projects:
- 45 to be written and directed by Kate Lincoln and produced by Ruth Treacy for Tailored Films
- Displaced to be written and directed by Niamh Heery and produced by Eric Dolan for Swansong Films
- Immigration Squad to be written and directed by Siobhán Perry and produced by Zlata Filipovic for Invisible Thread Films
The Reality Bites shorts are funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (BSÉ/IFB) and are set to premiere in 2015.
