‘Irish Folk Furniture’ Continues Success With A Win at Canadian Festival

6th Mar 2013
Fresh from its special screening in London's esteemed V&A museum last month, Tony Donoghue's animated short documentary IRISH FOLK FURNITURE has picked up the Best Short Documentary Award at the Global Visions Festival in Canada earlier this week.

This award can now be added to the Best Short Animation Award it won at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival and the Audience Award for Experimental Film it picked up at the Red Rock Festival in the US.

IRISH FOLK FURNITURE is a charming animated tale bringing new life to the cultural and social history of Irish farmhouse furniture. It was produced by Cathal Black under the 'Frameworks' animated short film scheme funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTÉ and the Arts Council.

The short is currently screening before Caesar Must Die in the IFI until March 14th and is also screening at the Tampere Film Festival in Finland this week.  Next up will be the Full Frame Documentary Festival in the US next month (April 4th - 7th).
