‘Talking TV Drama’ Seminar to Take Place in Galway 5th & 6th October

Following on from the success of last year's Talking TV Drama seminar, Galway Film Centre will be running the event again on 5th and 6th October in the Radisson Hotel, Galway and is delighted to announce that Bryan Cogman, Executive Story Editor and Writer on HBO's hugely popular Game of Thrones will take part in a seminar focused on writing drama for television. Talking TV Drama 2012 will comprise panel discussions, workshops and public interviews.

Hans Rosenfeldt, one of the main writers on the critically acclaimed The Bridge is confirmed for the Scandinavian Crime Writing Masterclass. Also attending this masterclass is Richard Cottan, writer of the first two seasons of Wallander UK. This panel will be chaired by Declan Croghan who is currently developing Life of Crime with Octagon and ITV.

James Hickey, Chief Executive, Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board will take part in the first panel on Friday October 5th.  The panel entitled "The Dramatic Irish Landscape" will also have panellists from RTÉ, BAI and TG4.

Participating in the two day seminar there will be an array of writing talent from around the world. Wallander UK, Torchwood,  Kumars at No. 42, Waking the Dead, Raw and Primeval are some of the many shows worked on by those attending this exciting two day event. Organisations represented at the event will include Disney Channel UK, STV, Channel 4 and Kudos.

Galway Film Centre Manager, Declan Gibbons said "Last year's event with Vince Gilligan from Breaking Bad generated a huge amount of interest from script writers, both emerging and established so this year we wanted to look in more depth at certain areas such as Script Editing, as well as putting certain key shows under the microscope. We're delighted with our line-up of speakers this year and we have a few more very special guests still to announce, so watch this space!"

This event takes place on Friday October 5th and Saturday October 6th in the Radisson Hotel in Galway City. Attendance to the full event costs €85 unwaged /€95 waged.
