Fiction: Irish Production

Fiction: Irish Production

Funding for Irish feature films (live action and animation) originated and creatively led by Irish talent.

About the Funding

This funding is for feature films originated and creatively led by Irish talent - directors, writers, producers - the content of which will generally (but not invariably) express Irish culture in some way, and the practical management of which is primarily in Irish hands. This programme is open to live-action fiction films or animated feature films.

Funding under the Irish Production programme is generally (but not invariably) provided by the IFB for the making of projects predominantly in English or Irish, or a combination of the two. In very limited and exceptional circumstances, live-action television drama series may be considered.

Who Can Apply

Fiction: Irish Production is available to Irish producers (indepenent production companies registered in the Republic of Ireland which have an office and staff based in the Republic of Ireland) with clear access to the necessary rights in any material that is to be adapted for the screen and has an agreement in place with the screenwriter and director.
