This masterclass is aimed at experienced and emerging Documentary Filmmakers.
Course Profile:
This class will focus on Emmy winning director, Geoffrey's approach to directing documentaries. The wide variety of subjects which Geoffrey's work encompasses will be discussed, Justice and humanity are recurring themes in his films which have been shot around the world including Mexico and the Ukraine. During the masterclass, Geoffrey will discuss:
- How he chooses/arrives at his subject matter
- Researching an idea Collaborating with other directors
- Shooting in extreme/dangerous environments
- The biggest challenges for him as a documentary maker
- Any ethical issues which may ever arise
- The use of dramatic recreation in his work
