FANTASTIC FILMS And MPI MEDIA GROUP To Team Up For New Horror Comedy STITCHES GRINDLE

Irish production company Fantastic Films and Chicago-based MPI Media Group announced at the AFM that they will co-produce Conor McMahon's latest project horror comedy STITCHES GRINDLE, with principal photography beginning November 2011 in Ireland.

Starring Tommy Knight (Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures) and British comedian Ross Noble the film will centre around Richard ''Stitches'' Grindle, a jaded workaday kids' birthday clown, whose one-liners are witty in a way that's just not for kids. He falls victim to a fatal party mishap at the hands of a group of particularly nasty children. Years later, the group of now teenagers attend a party at which Stitches is the uninvited guest of honour, returning to avenge his untimely death.

The team have already a number of acclaimed genre films between them: McMahon wrote and directed Disturbed and Dead Meat; Fantastic Films recently produced Outcast and Hammer Films Wake Wood while MPI Media Group's recent projects included Hatchet 2, The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers and Stake Land.

STITCHES GRINDLE will be produced with funding from the Irish Film Board.
