New Irish Cinema Screening @ Jameson Dublin International Film Festival
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board are proud to be the official industry partners once again of the Jameson Dublin Film Festival which will hold its 10th anniversary festival from the 16th to the 26th of February 2012.As always a great mix of Irish features, documentaries, animations and short films will screen during the festival which will be attended by some of Hollywood's brightest stars including Al Pacino, Glenn Close, Mark Wahlberg and Martin Sheen.
Hot from its Academy Award nominations, ALBERT NOBBS will have its Irish premiere in a Special Presentation on Saturday 18th and will be attended by the Oscar nominated Glenn Close who plays the title role in the film. Glenn picked up the Best International Actress accolade at last weekend's IFTA awards.
Martin Sheen will attend a Special Presentation of Thaddeus O'Sullivan's STELLA DAYS on Thursday 23rd. Sheen stars in the rural drama alongside Irish talent Stephen Rea, Marcella Plunkett and Amy Huberman.
Following its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival last week, Kirsten Sheridan's DOLLHOUSE will have a screening in The Factory on Saturday 25th while Pat Collins haunting meditation on those unseen aspects of the Irish landscape will screen on Thursday 23rd. Ian Fitzgibbon's DEATH OF A SUPERHERO, which has been receiving rave reviews since its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, will close the festival on Sunday 26th.
Audiences will also have an opportunity to see a selection of the latest IFB funded documentaries such as SAVING THE TITANIC, APPLES OF THE GOLAN, EL GUSTO, NUALA and NIGHTDANCERS along with a special programme of IFB funded short films which will screen on Friday 17th.
