UNTITLED Screenwriting Competition Public Event Set to Take Place During JDIFF
Bord Scannán na hÉireann / the Irish Film Board (IFB) and the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival are proud to present the UNTITLED public event on Friday 24th February. UNTITLED is a unique screenwriting competition where writers can win up to €16,000 towards the development of their film.Writers were invited to submit an idea for a feature film with the theme ‘1916'. Nearly 200 entries were received with a final shortlist of five writers/writing partnerships invited to write the first few scenes of their script.
On Friday 24th February the five shortlisted writers/writing teams will present the first few scenes of their script to an independent panel of industry professionals in front of a public audience in the Light House Cinema. The panel will go on to select the winning project, which will be announced at the Closing Gala of the festival on Sunday 26th February.
The winning project will receive a First Draft Development Loan of up to €16,000 while the four runners-up will win a season pass to the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival in 2013.
The writers/writing teams that will be presenting their script are:
- Jamie Hannigan & Michael Kinirons - Come Monday, We Kill Them All
- Hugh Travers - The Players
- Virginia Gilbert - The Boys
- Joseph O'Connor & Anne Marie Casey - Grace 1916
- Jasmina Kallay - Das Irland
The panel of industry professionals will be announced shortly.
The UNTITLED screening writing competition public event will take place at 4.30pm on Friday 24th February in the Lighthouse Cinema.
