The IFI to Focus on Fastnet Films in March
A special showcase of features, documentaries and shorts from Irish production company Fastnet Films will take place in the IFI throughout March. To celebrate the release of their latest production, THE OTHER SIDE OF SLEEP on the 16th March, the brief season will offer highlights from the company's catalogue including the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) funded feature films KISSES, NOTHING PERSONAL, THE INVESTIGATOR and CIRCUS FANTASTICUS and the documentary COLONY along with a host of short films.
Special guests scheduled to attend screenings include Jim Sheridan (My Left Foot, In America), Lance Daly (Kisses, Life's A Breeze), Rebecca Daly (The Other Side of Sleep) and Stephen Rea (Stella Days, The Crying Game).
Dublin-based Fastnet Films are producers Macdara Kelleher and Morgan Bushe, plus director Lance Daly who have worked with up-and-coming filmmakers Rebecca Daly, Andrew Legge and Ross McDonnell to name a few. In a few short years, their films have enjoyed both critical and box-office success, have screened at some of the world's most prestigious festivals like Toronto, Tribeca and Cannes and have won numerous international awards.
As well as the screenings, on Wednesday 21st March, the IFI will host an in-depth discussion with Macdara Kelleher and Morgan Bushe about their films, their production practice in Ireland and their mastery of the art of international co-production.
