Irish Horror Comedy STITCHES to Receive Irish and UK Cinema Release
Following successful screenings at the Cannes Film Festival and Market last month, the UK and Irish distribution rights to Conor McMahon's horror comedy STITCHES have been snapped up by UK distributors Kaleidoscope Entertainment and Signature Entertainment. A UK/Irish cinema release is now planned for October this year.
Co-written by McMahon and David O'Brien, the films stars comedian Ross Noble as Stitches the clown who having had a fatal accident at the hands of a group of nasty children comes back from the dead to wreak revenge on the group when they celebrate one of their 16th birthdays. Noble's acting debut, he stars alongside Tommy Knight (The Sarah Jane Adventures, Doctor Who) and Irish newcomers Harry Behan and Callum Maloney.
STITCHES was produced by Julianne Forde and Ruth Treacy with John McDonnell and Brendan McCarthy for Fantastic Films (Wake Wood, Outcast) in partnership with Chicago based production and distribution company MPI media group with funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
Stitches is due for an Irish/UK release around Hallowe'en in October.
