Dylan Leiner Confirmed As Keynote Speaker For The Real Deal 2012


The Galway Film Fleadh heralds the return of the annual Real Deal: The Business Of Creativity conference on Thursday July 12th in the Radisson Hotel, which this year focuses on building sustainability for the future. The busy line-up includes a keynote address from and conversation with Dylan Leiner, Sony Pictures Classics' Executive Vice President of Acquisitions & Production whose slate of recent and upcoming projects include To Rome With Love, Waiting For Sugarman, Celeste And Jesse Forever, Midnight In Paris, The Guard, Take Shelter, A Separation, Rust And Bone and this year's Palme D'Or winner Amour.

Other highlights of the day-long conference include a discussion on creative producing with Swedish producer Marianne Gray of Yellow Bird Films (Headhunters, The Millenium Trilogy, Wallander) and UK producer Elizabeth Karlsen of Number 9 Films (Made In Daghenham, Byzantium, Great Expectations);  a panel on the expected future trends in sales and distribution;  an exploration of potential new revenue sources for filmmaking and an interactive session focusing on the advancement of VFX and post production technology in Ireland.

The Real Deal: The Business Of Creativity is joint initiative between Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) and the Galway Film Fleadh.
