Irish Short Film ‘Riders to the Sea’ to screen in EU Film Festival in China

Orla Walsh's short RIDERS TO THE SEA will represent Ireland in the EU Film Festival in China screening in four cities, Beijing, Tiajnin, Chengdue and Shenzhen this month.  Only one film from each 26 European Member States will screen during the festival.

Funded by Bord Scannán na hEireann/the Irish Film Board, as part of the ‘Ireland - I Love You' Short Shorts film scheme, RIDERS TO THE SEA tells a tale of breaking waves, racing hearts and the treachery of lycra, when a surfing duel breaks out between a male and female surfer off the West Coast of Ireland. 

The film was directed by Orla Walsh and produced by Ian W. Davis of DIG Productions, (previous credits include ‘The Night Nurse' and ‘Some Other Stories').

RIDERS TO THE SEA has screened at numerous international film festivals an received an Honourable Mention at the Irish Chicago Film Festival.  The film will also screen at 27th Brest European Short Film Festival in November and Irish Film Festival in Rome, Italy in December.
