Irish Short ‘Cluck’ Picks Up International Jury Award

Irish short film CLUCK directed by Michael Lavelle has won the International Jury Award for Best Short Film at the 2012 Ale Kino Film Festival.

The film, which picked up the Best Short Film at the Luxor and New Hope film festivals and was nominated for an IFTA earlier this year, centres around a boy who believes himself to be a chicken who befriends a group of orphans in 1950s Ireland.

The films producer Rory Dungan of Tilted Pictures said he was "delighted at the reception the film has received on an international level".

CLUCK was produced by Rory Dungan of Tilted Pictures as part of the Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) Signatures scheme.

Michael and Rory are currently developing a feature film together with a children's audience in mind.
