Short Irish Animation AFTER YOU Selected for Cinequest Film Festival
Damien O'Connor's IFTA nominated short animation AFTER YOU has been selected from over 1,000 submissions to screen at this year's prestigious Cinequest Film Festival in California next month.
Speaking about the selection Damien said 'I am delighted that a small tale about Dublin is getting out to such a wide audience. American film festivals can be tricky to get into, but as I witnessed at the recent Martha's Vineyard International Film Festival, American audiences really seem to love it. It is huge opportunity for me to be able to attend Cinequest with an Irish film'.
AFTER YOU, which tells the tale of sixty years in the life of a Dublin doorman, won Best Animation at last year's Kerry Film Festival. It was produced by Steve Woods of Cel' Division as part of the Frameworks short film scheme which is funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTÉ and the Arts Council of Ireland.
The Cinequest Film Festival takes place in San Jose California from February 26th to March 10th. Harrison Ford and Salman Rushdie are among the top stars scheduled to attend the event, which is expected to draw 100,000+ visitors.
