Oscar Winning Costume Designer Jenny Beaven to Speak as part of National Film School Lecture Series


The National Film School in association with Bord Scannán na hEireann/the Irish Film Board is delighted to have the Oscar winning Costume Designer Jenny Beaven speak next week as part of the Lecture Series. 

Jenny Beavan is one of the most respected costume designers in the world and has received nine Academy Award® nominations, winning in 1985 for A Room with a View, one of her many collaborations with Ismail Merchant and James Ivory. Her other Oscar® nominations were The King's Speech (which won a Costume Designers' Guild Award); Gosford Park (BAFTA winner); Anna and the King; Sense and Sensibility; The Remains of the Day; Howards End; Maurice; and The Bostonians.  Her most recent work includes: Cranford; the two Sherlock Holmes films with Robert Downey Jr;  Gambit; and Mad Max: Fury Road, currently in post.
