Irish Folk Furniture to have Special Screening at V&A Museum in London

Fresh from its win at the Sundance Film Festival last month, Tony Donoghue's animated short film IRISH FOLK FURNITURE will have a special screening in London's V&A museum, one of the world's leading museum of art and design, on the 22nd February.

The film which picked up the Best Short Animation award at Sundance will screen during The Secret Life of Furniture event in celebration of the museum's recently opened Furniture Gallery.  The event will pay tribute to furniture - the process of its making, its makers and its functions - through a range of activities including installations, music, workshops and screenings.

IRISH FOLK FURNITURE is a charming animated tale bringing new life to the cultural and social history of Irish farmhouse furniture.  It was produced by Cathal Black under the 'Frameworks' animated short film scheme funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTÉ and the Arts Council.

Tony Donoghue will introduce his short film at the V&A museum on 22nd February.

IRISH FOLK FURNITURE will also screen at the Festival International du Film d'Environment in Paris later this month.  The festival which is run by the city of Paris, is one of the most prestigious environmental film festivals in the world.
