Irish Psychological Horror CITADEL wins Best Film at Festival in Amsterdam
The Irish/Scottish co-production CITADEL has picked up the Best Film MovieZone Award at the Imagine Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival.
This is now the 10
thinternational prize for the psychological horror debut from talented Irish writer - director Ciarán Foy since it won the Audience Award at SXSW last year.
Blurring the boundary between real-life experiences and a darker fictional world, CITADEL which stars Aneurin Barnard along with James Cosmo is an unsettling, original and powerful story - an agoraphobic father teams up with a renegade priest to save his daughter from the clutches of a gang of twisted feral children.
CITADEL was produced by Katie Holly for Blinder Films and Brian Coffey for Sigma Films with funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and Creative Scotland.
CITADEL will be released in Ireland and UK later this year.
