Chief Executive of BSkyB to deliver keynote address at Irish Audiovisual Industry Dinner
The Institute of Directors in Ireland (IoD), in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, is delighted to announce that Jeremy Darroch, Chief Executive of one of the world's largest broadcasting corporations, BSkyB, will come to Dublin in September to speak exclusively at an evening event dedicated to marking the achievements of the Irish audiovisual industry.
The continuing success of Irish talent-driven and Irish-based content production is of key importance to the growth of the audiovisual industry and this dinner, to be held on 13th September 2013, in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, is dedicated to recognising the potential of the industry. The Irish film and television industry was worth over €200 million to the Irish economy last year and the industry has demonstrated a strong promise for growth. SKY has recently commissioned a third series of MOONE BOY, co-produced by Grand Pictures, directed by Chris O'Dowd, and shooting on location in Roscommon and Wicklow.
The period drama MOONFLEET co-produced by Element Pictures, is currently filming in Dublin. Other recent Sky drama filmed on location in Ireland includes NEVERLAND and TREASURE ISLAND produced by Parallel Films, SINBAD by Impossible Pictures Ireland and THE TAKE by Element Pictures.
Attendees at the event will include acclaimed industry figures including actors and producers, along with Ireland's most senior business leaders, the members of the Institute of Directors in Ireland.
