Large Profile for the Irish Animation Industry at CARTOON FORUM, with seven IFB-Funded Projects Being Presented

 

Cartoon Forum, a major animation-industry pitching event for upcoming productions, will feature a strong Irish presence at Toulouse this September, including seven Irish productions and a further five Irish co-productions.

The Irish production companies include Avalon Films, Cartoon Saloon, Double Z Enterprises, Geronimo Productions, JAM Media, Kavaleer Productions, Keg Kartoonz, Monster Entertainment, PixelPuffin, Telegael Media, Treehouse Republic and Wiggleywoo.

Some of the highlights from the Irish representation are Nelly & Nora by Geronimo Productions, Early Bird by Jam Media, and The Day Henry Met... by Wiggleywoo, Epic Eric by Treehouse Republic, Fuzzyworld by Avalon Films & Monster Entertainment, Tipto by Kavaleer Productions and Puffin Rock by Cartoon Saloon, all seven of which have been developed with the support of Bord Scannán na hÉireann/The Irish Film Board.

The 24th edition of Cartoon Forum Toulouse, which takes place from September 17th to 20th, will bring together 800 professionals from 30 countries with the aim of boosting co-productions and speeding up financing.

Of the 69 projects in consideration this year, nearly half are co-productions between two or more countries, and 45% of the projects are aimed at children aged 6–12 years. More than 500 animation series have obtained over 1.7 billion euros in financing from the forum to date.

Cartoon Forum Toulouse Midi-Pyrénées is organised by Cartoon, the European Association of Animation Film, with the support of the Media Programme of the European Union, CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée), Région Midi-Pyrénées, Mairie de Toulouse, la communauté urbaine de Toulouse Métropole, Casino Barrière and France Télévisions.
