"Sensual, provocative and dangerously romantic": Kelly+Victor opens in cinemas this weekend
A co-production between Dublin's Venom Films, makers of the acclaimed documentary His & Hers, and the UK-based Hot Property Films (Bodysong, I Could Read the Sky), Kelly+Victor is a haunting, candid depiction of a young couple embarking on a passionate and transgressive love affair.
When Kelly (Antonia Campbell-Hughes) meets Victor (Julian Morris) on the dancefloor of a Liverpool nightclub, their attraction is instant. But she is escaping a brutish former lover, and he is being dragged into a world of drugs; when they make love, their darker instincts take over.
Adapted from the novel by Niall Griffiths, Kelly+Victor is set against the backdrop of a highly cinematic Liverpool, and features a searing soundtrack by artists like King Creosote & Jon Hopkins, Wild Beasts and Bill Ryder-Jones (ex-The Coral).
Kelly+Victor was produced with the support of The Irish Film Board/Bord Scannán na hÉireann. It opens nationwide on Friday, September 20th.
