Book now: Talking TV Drama 2013 at the Galway Film Centre
The Galway Film Centre's annual Talking TV Drama seminar will take place in the Harbour Hotel, Galway City, on Thursday, October 17th, and Friday, October 18th.
This year's events include an in-depth discussion on the writing and development of LOVE/HATE — with the show's director, David Caffrey; writer, Stuart Carolyn; and star Tom Vaughan-Lawlor — and an interview with screenwriter and showrunner Frank Spotnitz (Hunted, The X-Files) about his vast body of TV work. Also up for discussion: writing for a younger audience. The talented writers behind Skins and My Mad Fat Diary will be on hand.
More speakers and panels to be added. Check the Galway Film Centre's website for updates: www.galwayfilmcentre.ie/events/
This event is run in partnership with Screen Training Ireland and the BAI and is supported by Bórd Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, TG4, and RTÉ.
On Saturday, October 19th, the day after the seminar, Screen Training Ireland and Galway Film Centre will host a workshop on Developing Concepts for TV Drama. Tutor Frank Spotnitz will lead workshop participants through the process of developing a new drama series concept, giving first-hand insight into what makes a successful series and the actual experience of a writers-room collaboration.
