Lenny Abrahamson to speak at the National Film School Lecture Series next week

As part of its ongoing lecture series, which is presented in association with Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, the National Film School (IADT) will host director Lenny Abrahamson (Adam & Paul, Frank, What Richard Did) next Tuesday, December 10th, from 10am.

After directing an award-winning short film and numerous television commercials, both in Ireland and internationally, Lenny Abrahamson’s début film, Adam & Paul, won the Best First Feature award at the 2004 Galway Film Fleadh and the Grand Prix at the 2005 Sofia International Film Festival.

His second feature, Garage, was selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and won the CICAE Art and Essai award. What Richard Did, his third film, was released in 2012 to critical acclaim. All of these projects, as well as his television series Prosperity, have won IFTAs. Abrahamson’s latest feature, Frank, a comedy about a young wannabe musician starring Michael Fassbender, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Domhnall Gleeson, will be released in 2014.

The lecture will take place in Atrium Building Room A025 at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology from 10am. Admission is free. Click here for directions.
