John Ford Ireland Hosts Industry Hub of Discussion for Directors and Producers

An Industry Hub of discussion for Directors and Producers takes place on Saturday 7th June at the John Ford Ireland - Film Symposium this weekend with a great range of Panel Speakers.

The Ford Director's Hub brings together a unique panel of diverse filmmakers who will discuss the ‘job of work' of Directing and examine some of Ford's incredible masterpieces which are still a strong influence on modern-day filmmakers.  Lively discussion, debate and insight into Ford's unique skill and legacy.    Guest Speakers include Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Whit Stillman (Metropolitan), acclaimed UK director Ben Wheatley (Kill List, Sightseers) and IFTA nominated Kieron J. Walsh (When Brendan Met Trudy, Jump) and award-winning Irish Director Neasa Hardiman will chair this Discussion.

Producers Hub  -  2pm, Saturday June 7th, Gresham Hotel
This Producers Hub is an invaluable discussion forum where key industry figures from the UK and Ireland will participate at this producer's panel Discussion, focusing on the challenges of making independent films in both the UK and Ireland, and getting them out to the wider international market.   Confirmed Speakers/Panellists include: James Flynn (MD of Octagon Films; Calvary, Penny Dreadful),  Laura Hastings Smith (Hunger, McBeth),  Alan Moloney (MD of Parallell Films; Albert Nobbs, Treasure Island), Sue Bruce Smith (Head of Commercial and Brand Strategy at Film 4).  Andrew Reid (Head of Production, Northern Ireland Screen) and Chaired by David Collins (Founder & MD of Samson Films; Once, Run & Jump).
