Irish Short ‘The Missing Scarf’ to Screen in IFI Ahead of ‘School of Babel’ from December 5th
Irish short film The Missing Scarf will play in the Irish Film Institute (IFI) in Dublin before the documentary feature School of Babel from today (December 5th).
The Missing Scarf is a black comedy that explores some of life's common fears: the fear of the unknown, of failure, rejection and finally of death. Featuring the voice of Star Trek actor George Takei, the film was directed by Eoin Duffy and directed by Jamie Hogan for Belly Creative.
The Missing Scarf has won multiple awards since its debut. It was longlisted for the 2014 Academy Awards and selected to participate in the Oscar theatrical release, screening in more than 300 theatres in North America. It was also a hit at various international film festivals, winning prizes at the Toronto Animation Arts Festival, the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Chicago Irish Film Festival amongst many others.
The Missing Scarf was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, RTÉ and the Arts Council under the Frameworks short film scheme.
School of Babel is a documentary which examines a special class for young immigrant children in France.
