Directed by Mark O’Connor, King of the Travellers was released in 2013 and follows John Paul Moorehouse (John Connors; Love/Hate) on his destructive quest to uncover the truth about the killer of his father 12 years ago.  John Paul's desire for revenge is swayed as he falls for Winnie Power, the daughter of the man he suspects killed his father.  John Paul must now battle between his consuming passion for justice versus his desire to be with the woman he loves. The film also stars Peter Coonan (Love/Hate) and Michael Collins (Man About Dog) and features music from singer/songwriter Damien Dempsey.

Also airing tonight is the short documentary The Last Days of Peter Bergmann. Screening on RTÉ One at 11:20pm this short film explores the story of Peter Bergmann, a man who went to great lengths to ensure no one would ever discover who he was or where he came from. Directed by Ciaran Cassidy and produced by Morgan Bushe, The Last Days of Peter Bergmann screened at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival and has gone on to win major awards at a number of international film festivals.

The Guard, airing on Film Four on Wednesday at 9:00pm, was wirtten and directed by John Michael McDonagh. The film is a comedy-thriller starring Brendan Gleeson as an unorthodox Irish policeman who joins forces with a straitlaced FBI agent, played by Don Cheadle, to take on an international drug-smuggling gang. The film went on to make almost $20 million at the international box office.

Six Shooter airs on Film Four on Thursday morning at 1:00am. It was written and directed by Martin McDonagh and stars Brendan Gleeson. On a sad train journey home, an older man having just been informed about the death of his wife, encounters a strange, outlandish and possibly dangerous teenager. Six Shooter won the Academy Award® for Best Live Action Short Film in 2006.

The Guarantee screens on TV3 this Thursday at 9:00pm. Released in cinemas in October 2014, this film recreates the drama surrounding the most significant political decision in modern Irish history; when the Irish government decided to guarantee the entire domestic banking system.  It charts the origins of that pivotal decision and follows developments through the peak of the boom to the beginning of the bust via the key players involved, including Brian Cowen, Brian Lenihan, Sean Fitzpatrick and David Drumm. The Guarantee was directed by Ian Power, written by Colin Murphy and stars Peter Coonan, Gary Lydon, David Murray, Morgan C. Jones and Orla Fitzgerald.

Eliza Lynch: Queen of Paraguay airs on RTÉ One on Thursday at 10:15pm. This feature-length documentary tells the story of Eliza Lynch, one of the most intriguing, infamous and -- outside of South America -- least known characters of modern history. A beautiful and charismatic outsider, beloved of the people but shunned by the elite. This feature-length documentary was shot on location in Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, France, England and Ireland. It was directed by Alan Gilsenan and stars Maria Doyle Kennedy in the title role.

King of the Travellers, The Last Days of Peter Bergmann, The Guard, Six Shooter, The Guarantee and Eliza Lynch: Queen of Paraguay all received funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
