Congratulations to Jack Reynor, Winner of Special Jury Prize at Sundance for 'Glassland'

Following unanimous praise for his performance in Gerard Barrett's GLASSLAND, Jack  Reynor  was awarded a special Jury Prize  at the closing ceremony for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah last night. GLASSLAND was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.

The Hollywood Reporter commented on his "exceptional work" and how "several close-ups of Reynor's face as he beams with love or is fraught with worry...confirm the actor's impressive talent for conveying emotions without using words."

The highly influential site Indiewire highlighted Reynor's "career-making performance...while subdued, stands out because of its naturalistic humanity."

Speaking on the award Reynor commented 'I'm absolutely thrilled to have been considered and to have won a prize at Sundance this year. It's definitely a reflection of the work of everybody who was part of the film and I'm incredibly proud to have worked with all of them.'

Jack's breakout performance was in Lenny Abrahamson's What Richard Did (also funded by the IFB) which debuted at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival and screened at the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival bringing Jack to the attention of Hollywood.

GLASSLAND also stars Emmy, Golden Globe award winning and Oscar Nominated actress Toni Collette (Little Miss Sunshine),  2014 Bafta Rising Star Will Poulter (The Maze Runner) and British Independent Film award winning actor Michael Smiley (The World's End).

GLASSLAND is written and directed by Gerard Barrett and produced by Ed Guiney and Juliette Bonass for Element Pictures in association with Barrett's Nine Entertainment. The film is financed by the Irish Film Board and Element Pictures Distribution who will release the film in the UK and Ireland. Executive producers are Andrew Lowe and Gerard Barrett.

GLASSLAND will be released to Irish and UK audiences on April 17th.
