Irish Production The Visit is Selected for SXSW Festival 2015
The Visit, a documentary funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board, has been selected to screen at the prestigious SXSW (South by South West) Festival in Austen, Texas in March. The Visit was selected from amongst 2,385 feature-length submissions for this year’s festival.
The Visit comes from the team behind the hit documentary film His & Hers, and poses the question, what would happen if we were to be visited by a being from another world? The film presents this hypothetical scenario to experts from around the world who have already dedicated their lives to preparing for such an event. The Visit was directed by Michael Madsen and was produced by Venom Films, Magic Hour Films, Mouka Filmi, Nikolaus Geyrhalter Film and Indie Film.
The Visit also recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival alongside Irish films including Brooklyn and Glassland.
This follows in a long list of Irish productions which have screened at SXSW, including Patrick’s Day, Frank and Coda in 2014, Kelly + Victor and Good Vibrations in 2013 and Dollhouse, Dreams of a Life, Citadel, Foxes and Joy in 2012.
