Second Trailer is Released for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', Which Filmed Scenes in Ireland
The second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released online. The eagerly-awaited blockbuster was partially shot on location in Ireland in July 2014, and was facilitated by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board.
The filming in Kerry provided employment opportunities for over 70 Irish people. Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys TD commented at the time: "The combined effort of the local community, the State agencies and the international film world made this a truly special experience for all. This was a Team Ireland effort and I believe it showcased Ireland's wonderful arts, heritage and cultural assets, as well as our technical capabilities in the film production sector."
Ireland will also be represented in Star Wars: The Force Awakens by Dublin actor Domhnall Gleeson (Frank, Brooklyn), who has secured a role in the film.
Directed by JJ Abrams and produced by Lucasfilm, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be released in cinemas worldwide in December 2015.
