Screen Scene VFX (SSVFX) Nominated for BAFTA for Amazon Prime’s Ripper Street

Congratulations to Irish post-production company Screen Scene, on receiving a BAFTA TV Craft Award nomination for their work on the third season of hit TV series Ripper Street, which was funded by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB). Ripper Street is shot on location in Dublin, with decommissioned army site, Clancy Barracks, serving as the production's Studio base.

VFX Supervisor Ed Bruce, 3D Supervisor John O'Connell and VFX Co-ordinator Nicholas Murphy were nominated for their work, transforming modern-day Dublin into Victorian London. This level of recognition again helps highlight SSVFX's work and our growing VFX community here in Ireland."

Screen Scene VFX were solely responsible for the visual effects on Ripper Street Series 3, which is produced by Tiger Aspect, Element Pictures and Lookout Point.

Penny Dreadful for Showtime, which is shot on location in Ireland, and at Ardmore Studios, has also been nominated at the BAFTA TV Craft Awards in the categories of Costume Design, Original Music, Titles & Graphic Identity and Make-up and Hair Design. Irish production designer Philip Murphy has received a nomination along with Jonathan McKinistry in the category of Best Production Design for their work on the show. Season 1 of Penny Dreadful was made with funding from the Irish Film Board. Season 2 premieres on Showtime on May 3rd 2015.
